Certification

Certified Pre-owned Vehicles (CPOV) have high perceived value for car sellers and car buyers. Car sellers enjoy higher resale values while car buyers are comforted knowing they are purchasing a vehicle that has been properly maintained. Vehicles with CPOV status are awarded a gold badge.

Typically, a dealer will designate a vehicle as a CPOV after performing an inspection and bringing the vehicle up to the standards required to earn initial CPOV status. Once CPOV status is achieved, the vehicle will retain that status so long as the car owner continues to have required services performed when they are recommended.

CPOV status belongs to the vehicle and will transfer to the new owner at time of purchase so long as the CPOV status is in good standing. Presuming the new owner wishes to keep CPOV status, they will become a customer of the service provider and continue to bring their vehicle back to the service provider for service in order to retain CPOV status.
